Aisling Payne

▉▉: / / FILE ON SUBJECT #78C7C7 ! ALSO KNOWN AS: LIGHT ELF

NAME: AISLING PAYNE D.O.B.: 12 / MAY / 1999, 17 YEARS OLD SEX: FEMALE HEIGHT: 5 FT 8 IN WEIGHT: 135 LBS RACE: ELF OCCUPATION: HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE / TYPE: INFP - T

Empathetic: Like with all elves empathy is a trait that comes naturally to her. Aisling can read and sense the emotions and moods carried around by the people she meets. She uses this talent to determine what the best course of action will be at that moment to reach her goal. Whether that is for comedic purposes, or to simply lighten up the mood depends on case-by-case. Optimistic: She always tries to see the good and the pure in everyone. At times it may make her seem as naive, however Aisling refuses to think and believe that anyone can be truly evil, or evil at all. Alongside of that Aisling also dislikes to think in problems and chaos. A hopeless romantic who believes in 'happily ever afters'. Charitable: Ready to jump into action and help whenever asked. The elf has a problem with saying 'no'. No matter the situation, and most often even before she even knows what for, she always agrees to a favour asked. Sometimes it can get a little tricky, as it might get into the way of her own schedule, but so far Aisling has always managed to work it out without having to let anyone down. Mediating: A peace keeper at heart, Aisling hates conflicts, whether she is involved within them herself or sees them happening. As such she is always quick to act and try to settle down both parties. The elf always tries to comply to all wishes of the party, no matter how conflicting and tries to find a middle-road. A feat that is almost impossible and very tiresome to do, but she goes for it anyway.

Insecure: Aisling is extremely self-conscious on how her actions affect other people and how she is perceived within society. She wishes to be well-liked by everyone and tries her best to be liked. Accompanied with her natural keen sense to read the mood within the room and that of others she uses that to her advantage. However, it also works as a block for her as she works on assumptions made on what their reaction would be based on emotions. This could prevent her from acting true to herself at times, or to speak her mind. Surreal: A dreamer who walks around with her head in the clouds. It isn't uncommon for Aisling to explore outrageous ideas, or to be entirely lost in her daydreams, only to find her grip on the present situation entirely lost. It gets especially bad when she is planning out ideas to 'help' out her friends and imagining all of her 'romantic', 'fairytale' scenarios as on how to make them work. Overzealous: Can get a bit carried away when attempting to help. All of Aisling's friends know when to make a run for the hills once they see the girl smile in a certain way. They don't doubt her good intentions and her intent to help, but they also know that she can go too far in her plans and ideas to help others. She may not realise it, but her eagerness usually tips over to the point of discomfort and embarrassment of many as the girl goes over the top easily. Emotional: The downside to the hyper-empathy the elves feel, is that they feel a lot. Every emotion is always felt and experienced stronger than the other races do. The fact that they can feel and sense that of others as well amplifies that. It also can confuse the less trained amongst them, as they can't read the distinction between their own emotion and that of a peer. This makes Aisling easy to read as well, as she often wears her emotions outwardly, but also because she has the worst poker-face

SKILL ANALYSIS

PRIMARY : EMPATHY SECONDARY : SENSOR

ABILITY PROFILE / SERVICE FILE:

ᴘ ᴏ ᴡ ᴇ ʀ s

Clairempathy: The ability to sense and feel the emotions of her surroundings. Aisling is able to pick and distinguish the emotions of her environment, able to quickly distinguish what the overall mood is inside of a place, or room, or to even sense hidden contempt directed towards her or her group. Overwhelming: She gets easily overwhelmed if the environment is packed with heavy emotions. This gives her headaches, but also renders her power ineffective. This is especially the case in chaos, when people are running high on adrenaline.

Clairvoyance: The ability to track someone through their emotions. Aisling can track someone through their mood frequencies and emotions if she knows enough about their character and can properly tap into their ‘frequency’. Concentration: Requires deep concentration and at least a personal bond with the person. Can be faked by knowing all about their person, but the information shared has to be accurate and detailed.

Clairaudience: The ability to ‘hear’ emotions. When there are big exchanges of emotions happening between individuals, whether it is disgust or love, Aisling can hear a voice between them. It is a general voice that doesn’t really express the thoughts of the individuals, but the nature of the emotion itself. Suffocating: Can hear more than one emotion clash with each other, especially in fights. This may suffocate her, or even confuse her as she hears multiple voices, but can’t pinpoint where they belong.

ᴀ ʙ ɪ ʟ ɪ ᴛ ɪ ᴇ s

Cold reading: Reading people based on heavy observations of speaking, moving, reacting, etc… It is usually done by con-magicians who claim to have some sort of telepathic ability with the world of the death. Usually such con-artists are elves as well who polished this skill along with their heightened empathy. Aisling however doesn’t use it to con others, but in an attempt to make the most efficient assessment of their character. Probability: Most of the knowledge is based on assumptions and guesses, this is the reason why these con-artists usually make vague exclamations when sharing their findings. The chances that their findings are wrong grows the more specific their guesses get. Even as a well-trained elf Aisling is subject to the same gamble between right and wrong.

Lie detector: With a heightened emotional understanding and sensing Aisling can sense when someone is lying as this will disrupt their emotions in even a slight way. This is a rule that applies to most everyone as even the greatest liars around experience a small disruption in their emotions. Reason: She can’t sense the reason why someone is lying, thus she can’t differentiate between a white lie and a secret. It is also an useless ability against brainwashed people or those who have completely misunderstood the situation.

HISTORY RECORDS : CLASSIFIED

RESIDENT OF AUTUMN: 17 YRS

■ Aisling was born in the farmlands of Autumn, at the border of the city where life seems to have stood still in time and secluded from the rest of modern world. There she lived the country life, together with her siblings, parents and grandparents. ■ Life in the farmlands was rather secluded, but also very carefree. Everyone knew each other and as such Aisling’s world was very small. The emotions there were warm and fuzzy. ■ Was sent to live with her aunt once she graduated primary school as to further her education. The farmlands didn't offer much for her to pursue her future and her parents wanted to give Aisling and her siblings all of the chances they could get. ■ Much to her surprise, however, the city was cold and distant in its emotions. Leaving Aisling to feel alone and empty. She felt as if she had been thrown into a cold pool, or that she ran into a brick wall. ■ Her aunt, a successful lawyer, helped her better integrate in the city. So that she didn’t have to be that one awkward country-pumpkin. ■ She taught Aisling that there were hidden emotions in the city. That they were more subtle, but also tender, as they were hidden from the surface. ■ Because of Aisling’s natural keen sense of empathy she could quickly adapt and cater herself to the mood of everyone as well, which helped her greatly. ■ As a result, however, she often acts out of her own character just to please others and make everyone laugh. ■ Still goes back to the farmlands in the holidays, but prefers the city far better now. ■ Never really had any problems with her abilities and sensitive sense of empathy. Aisling was a fast learner and good at controlling and conforming herself. ■ Dreams of becoming a SPARRO officer after a school trip to the SPARRO office. ■ No noteworthy relationships in life other than friendships and family. Has five siblings, her being the third one. One older brother and sister and a another pair, but then younger, to balance it out with.

【 AN INTERVIEW WITH SUBJECT #78C7C7

QUESTION #001 LET'S START EASY: WHY ARE YOU WEARING THOSE SOCKS?

Instinctively I pulled down the hem of my jeans. Was there something wrong with the pair I had picked today? Should I have given it more thought and see if they actually suited the rest of my outfit? I just hoped that I didn't accidentally grab two of a different pair again, but I didn't dare to check. Shifting a little I rubbed my leg with my feet, hoping that my socks weren't too obnoxiously visible, just in case it was.

"I... Uh... No idea?" scraping my throat for what felt like an eternity I finally managed to answer. Hating how indecisive and uncertain I sounded I tried to avoid eye-contact, hoping that they wouldn't continue to ask me about my choice of socks.

QUESTION #002 WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU FOUND A GENIE?

"I get three wishes with these, right?" I jumped up excited, my hands clasping into each other as I thought about the things I could wish for. Three wishes, what could I ask for it?

"Well, first of all I would ask for world peace!" How wonderful it would be to live in a world without war. I imagined myself a world with no crime and where no one would fight or get into arguments. I knew some would laugh at me and call me childish for my wishful thinking. I just liked to remain hopeful. How hard could it be to get along with everyone? //rest of the answer has been redacted for it was getting too long

"Second I want to wish for... A great banquet for everyone to join in! To celebrate our new peace." I smiled a little at myself as I thought of the food that we could share and eat together, the new dishes that could be discovered and that represented each other's cultures so well. I was getting carried away until the interviewer chuckled at me. Pointing at the corner of their mouth I quickly snapped out of my daze, embarrassed as I wiped my lips.

"Uhm... third I want..." starting hesitantly I wondered what I should ask for. There was so much I wanted, but at the same time nothing I really wanted to wish for. It was strange, but if I could work towards it myself I didn't want to bother the genie with it.

"Lastly I think I would wish for..." musing a little longer to myself I then grinned widely. "I would keep it for later, or wish for a thousand more." That sounded like a smart answer. Yeah, that definitely did sound like a good plan. Now if I could ever find a genie...

QUESTION #003 YOUR LIFE IS NOW A MOVIE. WHAT IS THE TITLE AND WHAT ARE THE REVIEWS?

“Princess pumpkin!” I immediately exclaimed. It was a nickname I gained from my classmates when I just arrived in the city. A harmless nickname, really, and it was hilarious, as proven when the journalist giggled a little. “The reviews would be…” here I trailed off a little, suddenly feeling self-conscious. Would it be arrogant to say that they would be through the roof? Deciding to go for something more cryptic I grinned a little. “They would be growing,” leaving out any indication of what that could mean.

QUESTION #004 THERE IS A HOUSE FIRE. WHAT/WHO DO YOU SAVE?

“Whoever is inside, of course!” I exclaimed. After all, wasn’t that the obvious thing to do?

QUESTION #005 YOU GET STOOD UP FOR A DATE. WHAT IS YOUR REACTION?

“I would ask them why?” I mused, not sure what I would actually do. I couldn’t imagine anyone going out with someone and not appearing. Who would do something so rude?

"Oh, and treat myself to something nice to cheer me up, of course!" I continued with a smile, I love me some good food, but a feeling of unease about being 'ditched' stirred me unwell. Would I even be able to eat if it were to happen?
